From 18 to 19 May there will be night works on Thompsons Road.
This is in preparation for the opening of new lanes between South Gippsland Highway and Marriott Boulevard, including the second three-lane bridge near Merinda Park train station and the traffic lights at Evans Road.
Safety barriers will be removed, signs installed and new line-markings added.
How works may affect you:
- To carry out these works safely, there will be:
- traffic controllers to assist you
- the speed limit will be set to 40km/h
- maintained access to properties and businesses
- monitoring of noise, dust and vibration levels
What you’ll notice:
On Sunday 19 May, at least two lanes in each direction on Thompsons Road between South Gippsland Highway and Marriott Boulevard, including the two bridges near Merinda Park train station will be opened.
Occasional lane closures will still be required to do some finishing works including laying the final asphalt surface, street lighting, concreting and landscaping until the end of 2019.
The speed limit will remain at 60km/h and some shared walking and cycling paths will remain closed until all works are completed.
